Telehealth

“All of the trees are losing their leaves, and not one of them is worried.”

Tele-health services are a fantastic way to receive therapy and life coaching services for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, chronic illness and chronic pain, as well as coaching through career and life transitions.

Many individuals find it difficult to attend in person weekly therapy sessions due to issues with childcare, transportation, chronic illness or chronic pain, or mental health symptoms.  Individuals who engage in tele-health therapy have found they are able to be held accountable for their goals (for example, goals with emotional eating, reduction in panic attacks, etc) because they are more likely to show up to sessions.  An added benefit we have noted is clients who fall under our specialty but do not live close to us can receive the same therapy services via tele-health as they would in person.

For medical and mental health professionals, the benefits on tele-therapy include being in the comfort of your home after a long shift in the hospital, and being able to have a therapy session late in the evening or on the weekend.

Reuters produced an article that stated that they found tele-health therapy to be just as effective for trauma and PTSD symptoms as in person therapy, stating, “Patients with PTSD could be treated effectively in the clinic or by using home based tele-health. The findings are especially important given the common barriers that make it harder for those who need these services to access them.”  You can read the full write up here
