Jean Terzano, Medical Receptionist

Jean is one of our kind, friendly medical receptionists who will be the first face you see at May You Find Peace Counseling and Wellness in our Southbury location.

Jean comes from an extensive background in mental health, administrative and direct care experience, including 5 years of experience as a medical receptionist for mental health providers at an outpatient mental health center, and Danbury Hospital Psychiatry. Jean also has 2 years experience in medical billing and coding for an oral surgeon. She was first introduced to medical billing when working within an outpatient mental health center, and became interested in the unique knowledge one must have to navigate insurance benefits and claims submission. Jean has a great amount of interest and compassion when it comes to helping patients to navigate needs or concerns surrounding insurance and office visits, and understands how complex it can be.

Jean loves to work with people, and has extensive experience working with Developmental Disabilities, focusing on behavioral aspects. She is CPR certified, PMT certified, ADA certified, Dementia Training Certified, and has been previously certified in Mental Health First Aid. She is currently receiving a re-certification course and feels a continued passion for helping individuals experiencing mental health symptoms to feel safe, comfortable, and understood. Jean takes great pride in ensuring patients who request appointments with providers are matched with the best provider for their needs and goals.

Jean’s hobbies include hiking, reading, camping, and traveling to new places, as well as spending time with her middle school aged daughter, who loves keeping her busy and whom she adores more than anything.
