Kelli Bernier, APRN

Kelli Bernier, APRN, is a Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner who graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Master’s in Nursing- Family Nurse Practitioner, and received her Bachelor or Science (RN) degree from Quinnipiac University.
Throughout her nursing career, Kelli has provided care to diverse populations while working within general and emergency medicine, in the treatment of adult and geriatric patients. Kelli has specialized in work with geriatric patients for 7 years, after working more than 6 years in emergency medicine. Kelli’s time in emergency and general medicine allowed her to see the impact that postpartum symptoms, anxiety, depression, and insomnia can affect the physical and mental health of patients, as well as their life as a whole. This has inspired Kelli to work closer within the mental health field, to offer patients well-rounded care with the goal of a better quality of life while navigating aging, life stressors, and major life changes.
Kelli specializes in treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, postpartum symptoms, insomnia, and trauma. Kelli is gentle, kind, and patient, and takes pride in getting to know her patients as an individual in order to see the whole picture and provide the treatment with the highest likelihood of success. Through her career and time with patients, Kelli has grown an appreciation and deep understanding of how life changes, especially changes associated with aging, can impact a person’s mental health.
Kelli also conducts health evaluations including screening for thyroid disorders and vitamin deficiencies which may impact physical and mental health symptoms. She is available for in person visits in our Southbury office, as well as tele-health visits.
