Dr. Karin L. Sidman-Croghan, PsyD, LPC
Dr. Karin Sidman-Croghan graduated with her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Illinois School of Professional Psychology with a specialization in Health Psychology, and a Master’s Degree from Adler University in Chicago, Illinois in Geronotological Counseling.
Karin works with teenagers through older adults, including seniors, and helps them to manage life transitions, depression, anxiety, chronic pain and illness, and substance abuse. Karin also has a degree in nursing, which helps her to have a great understanding of her clients’ struggles from a medical perspective as well as a mental health perspective. During therapy sessions, she displays a great balance of humor and understanding. She provides unconditional support for her clients while encouraging them to engage in healthy coping skills, boundaries, and self-empowerment and growth.
Karin utilizes an integrative approach, including CBT, ACT, Adlerian, and Person-Centered Therapy in order to focus on the collaborative effort in sessions, with the goal of helping clients to find peace and positive, forward movement in their lives.
Karin believes in utilizing multiple disciplines, including art, movement, mindfulness and laughter, in order to help the client heal and grow while enjoying the therapeutic process. She is warm, kind, and fun, and enjoys making therapeutic sessions something clients look forward to.
