At May You Find Peace Counseling and Wellness, we understand that true healing encompasses mind, body, and spirit. Our nutrition services are designed to complement your mental health journey, supporting you through anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and life's many challenges. We offer a holistic approach that recognizes the powerful connection between what we eat and how we feel.

Our Holistic Approach to Nutrition

Nutrition is foundational to mental and physical wellbeing. Our nutritionists work alongside our team of therapists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and medical professionals to provide comprehensive, integrated care. Whether you're managing anxiety, depression, chronic illness, IBS, pre-diabetes or diabetes, PCOS, thyroid disorders, POTS, MCAS, celiac disease, GERD, SIBO, general GI discomfort, histamine intolerance, or increased stress, affecting your appetite, self esteem, or body image, proper nutrition can be a powerful tool in your healing journey.

We combine evidence-based nutritional science with holistic healing modalities, including reiki and mindful eating practices, to create personalized nutrition plans that honor your unique needs, goals, and preferences.

What We Offer

Comprehensive Nutritional Counseling

Our nutrition services address the whole person, supporting both physical and emotional health. We specialize in:

  • Mental Health Nutrition Support: Nutritional strategies to support anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, recognizing the gut-brain connection and how food impacts emotional wellbeing
  • Chronic Illness Support: Specialized nutrition guidance for individuals living with chronic illness, hormonal imbalances, and autoimmune conditions, as well as support for families and caregivers navigating these challenges
  • ADHD Nutritional Support: Dietary approaches that support focus, concentration, and symptom management for children and adults with ADHD
  • Emotional Eating and Body Image: Compassionate support for those struggling with their relationship with food, emotional eating patterns, and body image concerns
  • Grief and Loss Nutrition Support: Gentle nutritional guidance during times of grief, when self-care and nourishment may feel overwhelming
  • Child and Family Nutrition: Age-appropriate nutrition counseling for children receiving play therapy or child therapy, supporting healthy development and addressing picky eating or sensory concerns
  • Hormonal support: Tailored nutrition plans for individuals experiencing PCOS, thyroid disorders (hypo-/hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto's), perimenopause/menopause changes, adrenal dysregulation
  • Pain relief: Personalized nutrition plans to support individuals experiencing adnominal pain and discomfort, due to conditions such as: IBS, IBD, GERD, celiac disease, functional dyspepsia, SIBO, general GI discomfort

Advanced Testing and Personalized Care

To provide the most effective and personalized nutrition care, we offer comprehensive testing services that go beyond traditional approaches:

GeneSight Testing

We provide GeneSight DNA testing to identify which medications are the best match for your unique body chemistry. This pharmacogenomic testing helps our medical team prescribe medications for anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other conditions with greater confidence, reducing the trial-and-error process and supporting faster, more effective treatment outcomes. This testing can be completed by your MYFP APRN.

Vitamin and Thyroid Level Testing

Optimal health requires optimal nutrition at the cellular level. We check vitamin and thyroid levels to ensure your body has what it needs to function at its best. Deficiencies in key nutrients can contribute to symptoms of depression, anxiety, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating. By identifying and addressing these imbalances, we support your body's natural healing capacity. This testing can be completed by your MYFP APRN or Nutritionist.

Integrated with Your Complete Care Team

Our nutrition services work seamlessly with our other holistic offerings:

  • Psychotherapy Integration: Nutrition counseling complements therapy modalities including EMDR, IFS (Internal Family Systems), and cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Medication Management: Our nutritionists collaborate with our APRNs who provide psychiatric medication evaluations and medication management to optimize your treatment plan
  • Holistic Healing: We integrate reiki, mindfulness practices, and other holistic approaches to support your overall wellness
  • Medical Coordination: We work closely with your other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care
