Nicolette Pilla, LPCA
Nicolette Pilla, LPC-A, is licensed professional counselor associate with a Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling from Albertus Magnus College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Visual Arts from SUNY Purchase. She has experience working with all ages, from 5 years old to adults, and specializes in work with adolescents and young adults, taking a special interest in their transitional life changes and the challenges this brings.
Nicolette blends empathy, warmth, active listening, creativity, and professionalism to support clients on their journey toward mental wellness and personal growth. Nicolette brings a diverse background in both traditional counseling and art therapy, including engaging in group and individual art therapy, parent and child coaching to support stronger family connections and healthy communication, as well as conducting mental health assessments in holistic and conventional settings.
Nicolette utilizes a range of therapeutic approaches including art therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness, tailoring her methods to each individual’s needs. Nicolette has specialized training in Nutrition Exposure Therapy for individuals experiencing eating disorder symptoms, as well as training is de-escalation techniques for healthcare providers to help them work with patients in residential and hospital settings. With this training, Nicolette enjoys supporting other healthcare providers navigate burnout and stress. Her primary focus on art therapy provides a unique and creative way for clients to express themselves and explore their emotions, fostering deeper insights and self-discovery.
Creating a warm and supportive atmosphere, Nicolette ensures clients feel heard and valued, fostering a collaborative approach toward achieving their goals. She navigates challenges specific to adolescents, such as family dynamics and school-related stressors, and supports young adults through transitions like career decisions, relationships, and personal identity.
