Claudine Pettigrew, LCSW

Claudine Pettigre, LCSW, graduated from Quinnipiac University with her Master's in Social Work. She also attended the University of New Haven where she earned a degree in Psychology and minored in both Sociology and Criminal Justice.

Claudine intentionally practices through the lens of cultural sensitivity and humility. This approach is heavily influenced by her own background and upbringing. It provides the tools needed to be comfortable working with individuals from varying and diverse backgrounds in ways that are beneficial to the overall healing and recovery process of each individual client. Claudine believe clients are the experts in their own lived experiences and that her role is to walk along side them, while proving a safe space to process any life challenges that become a product of those experiences.

Claudine has worked with Veterans, individuals experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, those experiencing challenges in adjusting to life changes, chronic illness, navigating interpersonal relationships and those desiring to achieve improvement in mental health outcomes in general.

Claudine provides a tailored approach to each individual journey to recovery, utilizing a strengths based approach. This is done collaboratively and always with the clients input and a clear understanding of their expressed goals. She utilizes various evidenced based frameworks of practice to include solution focused therapy, talk therapy, motivational interviewing, relaxation techniques, breathing and meditation, elements of CBT, to name a few. She often use a combination of each framework in her practice.

Claudine looks forward to building a strong therapeutic alliance with each individual client, and is thoughtful to maximize every opportunity for interaction in order to achieve that goal.
