Colleen Warner, LPC

Colleen Warner, MAATC, LPC, ATR, received her Masters of Art Therapy and Counseling from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Studio Art from Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, Connecticut. Colleen takes a client-centered approach to her sessions, believing strongly in the power of working towards the client’s growth as a team. She strives to model and validate the universal experience of being human, meet clients where they are at, and continuously instill trust through rapport.

Colleen works with a wide range of ages, with particular interest in teens, adults, and couples. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, neurodivergence (autism, ADHD, OCD, sensory sensitivity), trauma, sex and sexuality issues, life transitions, identity exploration and self-esteem building. Colleen has experience collaborating with other providers, schools, and family members as appropriate to best set clients up for success on their journey.

Art therapy specifically utilizes art making as a form of expression, processing, and coping. Clients will be given specific directives based on proposed goals as well as follow their own intuition when creating. Colleen provides a wide variety of materials as well as guidance in their use- no previous “skill” or experience required! Art therapy can be an invaluable modality for all ages, presentations, and abilities. A client does not, however, need to be interested in art making to work with Colleen. Throughout sessions, she integrates CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, behavioral, humanistic, play and somatic strategies, no matter the modality.
